Samsung Begins Mass Production of 16 GB Flash Memory

Gadgets, Technology No Comments

Samsung will be the first to mass produce 16Gb NAND flash memory. The tech specs from Samsung state the memory support 30MB/s transfer rates and 4-bit error correcting code. Like most of you, I’m not really thinking about the RAM tech specs. It is more about 16Gb iPod nanos and iPhones. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leader in advanced semiconductor technology, said it will fabricate the devices in 51 nanometers (nm), the finest process technology to be used in memory mass production to date.

With support technology in place, demand for 16Gb NAND flash memory is expected to grow rapidly, pushing this new chip into the mainstream market beginning late this year. Aggregate global sales through 2010 are estimated to be US$21 billion

HighFivez.com – Web Community

Technology No Comments

HighFivez.com is a web community for finding and promoting the most interesting Blog Posts and Blog Authors in the Blogosphere. It has a forum where you can ask any question related to blogs, what other paid programs there are and how to improve your rankings. The cheerful orange and white theme was attractive and reminds me of some signature kitchen cabinets of the exact same colors in Penang, Malaysia. The sign up was easy and you will instantly get a notification of a link to click on to complete your registration. Still in beta version, I find that after clicking on the link to confirm, it should be able to detect my username when I write a new post instead of having to type another username. Other than this minor bug, the rest of the features are fine. Also, after submitting a blog, the newest post should be right at the top and I could not find the new blog submitted besides the most popular ones.

Anyway, I will take note of this new forum and check out the entries as the days go by. As this is still a beta version, I guess improvement will be made from user feedbacks. I thought the idea of segregating the topics based on Popular Posts, Most View Posts, Most Discussed Posts and Popular Blogs was functional and easy to navigate. Do check out this forum and blog community for more interesting stuffs as more posties participate in here.

I am back from Langkawi

Diana's Diary, General No Comments

The trip to Langkawi for business was a relaxing one. We were lucky to get a hotel room at RM130 per night and a rented car – Kembara for RM80 per day. Since it was the holidays season, there were loads of busses of tourists visting this spunking happening island. Everywhere, we see many busses and no wonder we had to wait for the 8:00pm ferry from Kuala Kedah at around 5:30pm. The ferries are at 30 minutes interval and the time we chose were already fully booked. So we had to wait for the last ferry at 8:00pm after taking a simple dinner.
