There is a portable duplex document scanner from Scanshell-Store dot com. It has many features such as scanning both sides of the scanned document simultaneously, it scans to PDF (a compressed file format). It can also scan business cards, plastic ID cards, and documents up to legal size and uses USB 2.0 standard interface. No external power is needed and comes in small footprint and lightweight (<18 oz). The scanner also has Auto Launch mode which is Twain and WIA compatible.

DocShell is an easy to use utility that scan documents and export the scanned image into existing, pre-installed application on the user’s pc (PDF,Microsoft paint etc.). The scanned document can be saved to one of the following image types: BMP, JPG, TIF, PSD, PCX, PNG or TGA. This makes it very flexible to work with so many image file formats depending on what software your PC has.
