Here is to wishing you Merry Christmas 2011 and Happy New Year 2012! Some eye candy for you here in this blog. Mickey Mouse greetings! I will be taking a break here for a few days over Christmas and go somewhere nearby to rejuvenate. Now not in the mood to do anything but take a holiday. Very soon, it will be the end of the year of the Rabbit and the dawn of the year of the dragon in a couple of days’ time. Just hope the business will continue to prosper with trusted workers for next year. We discovered one of our long serving workers has decided to jump ship. But in the mean time I hope we will get new workers who are more motivated and can continue to work with us for a long time.

Easter Sunday is Today

Do you like the Easter Bunny balancing the Easter Egg on the picture above? Today is Easter Sunday and I am glad I attended church service as my favorite pastor (Pastor Yeoh Guan Hock) preached today with much singing. The message was also relevant to the occasion. His message was delivered in a concise and easy to understand way with some humor injected and lyrics of old time favorites included. This pastor is in a class of his own and I will always make sure to attend his preaching.

There was also a mime shown in church today entitled “Travelling Light” – to tell us to remove unnecessary burdens in our life like the love of money, busyness, tempations be it sexual or the internet, etc. Also do not keep bitterness in your heart; it is like you drinking the poison while hoping the other person will die. This is something to ponder about. I felt so relieved after attending Pastor Yeoh’s preaching.

By the way, Easter Sunday marks the day Jesus ressurected from hell 3 days after He was crucified on Good Friday. Jesus is indeed alive now today and forever more. Below are the lyrics for the song “Jesus is Alive” by HillSongs, Australia.

Today is Good Friday

It is the Friday before Easter, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus. As early as the 2nd century it was kept by Christians as a day of penance and fasting. The Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches have special liturgies for the day, which include readings and prayers commemorating Christ’s sufferings on the cross. Protestant churches also hold special services on Good Friday.

Yesterday was Maundy Thursday,
today is Good Friday,
tomorrow is Holy Saturday and then
the most important day, Easter Sunday.

I thank God for a strong faith in Him to go through the challenges in life, sometimes coming across nut case people who are emotionally unstable, those who render negligible help with ulterior motives, and expect a thousand thanks or more! I have learnt my lesson! I am going to cut out such poisonous people in my life and have nothing to do with them in future! Instead of wasting time chatting with strangers/friends/foes, I am going to spend time reading useful magazines that are beneficial and surf the related web sites.

It is my strong faith in Jesus to carry me through in good times and in bad times. When I focus on Jesus, all other things are irrelevant – bearing in mind what Jesus had to go through at the cross with painful sufferings to take the curse upon His own body in exchange for our eternal life. This was a divine exchange between God and man. Jesus took our sufferings, poverty, sickness, curse, etc so that we can have His blessings, health, abundance, wealth, and all the good things life can offer. If you are not a Christian yet, start attending a church or look for a Christian friend to learn more about Jesus – the miracle in my life.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you, my readers, a very Merry Christmas 2010 and a Happy New Year in 2011. I am currently on a short break from blogging. Christmas is a time to share and care. John 3:16 from the New International Version states the following:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The is the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus came down from heaven to give man a new eternal life and to restore’s man’s relationship with our Heavenly Father. This is the perfect Agape love displayed at its utmost sacrifice. It is not about Christmas trees, Santa Claus, golden baubles or tinsels. Christmas represents the birth of our Savious Jesus Christ who was born in a humble manger so that you and I can receive his riches and blessings while He took away our poverty, sickness and disease. Jesus gave us eternal life through his painful crucifixion at Calvary. So, whoever accepts Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, will have eternal life in heaven. This is the real meaning of Christmas – God’s gift to mankind!

Sabbath Sunday

Today is Sabbath Sunday and time for church. Sometimes, I feel more comfortable attending a Catholic church than a Protestant one that sometimes can be very fiery and blunt. And if they want money from you like a local baptist church in Penang, they will put donation envelopes in every pew to make sure that you get the messsage that you should continue to tithe the moment you stop tithing for personal reasons. Sometimes I wish I gave cash instead of a cheque so that they cannot check who is giving regularly and who is not. Then when you stop tithing, the message of grace change to law instead. And the printed bulletins are changed from once weekly to once monthly. Even the cheap paper also want to save! And then the pastor start preaching about giving more money for the church building fund and keep harping about it the moment they know you have stopped tithing. I feel that tithing and offering should be voluntary and not mandatory and being pushed that you SHOULD give if you are attending this church! There does not seem to be a church that preaches grace constantly instead of mixing it with law in Penang.

Happy Easter Sunday

Today is Easter Sunday and it marks the days Jesus resurrected to heaven, 3 days after his crucifixion on Good Friday. This is a new beginning for mankind to be free from curse, poverty, sickness and eternal damnation in hell as Jesus took that all away on our behalf. I attended church today and there was a skit put up by my local church especially for non believers. Jesus was scourged even though he knew no sin. You might think this is unfair but that is how it goes. Jesus took the penalty so that we can take his blessings. It was a divine exchange for man. As Christmas marks the birth of Jesus, Easter Sunday marks his ascension into heaven as he rose from the dead to be reunited with our Heavenly Father. Jesus’ victory is our victory over the evil one and over death. Hallelujah!

Make a personal reflection about this….. Very interesting, read until the end……

John Lennon (Singer):

During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:’God, that’s for you..’ He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)

She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: ‘I don’t need your Jesus’. A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

Bon Scott (Singer)

The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang: ‘Don’t stop me; I’m going down all the way, down the highway to hell’. On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

Campinas (IN 2005)

In Campinas , Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend…..The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car: ‘My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.’ She responded: ‘Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here…..It’s Already Full ‘ Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be ecognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact. The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken.

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer)

said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written. In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle. Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive. ‘Jesus’

Partaking the Holy Communion

From my personal experience and after attending so many churches, the most annointed church (in the world also) is New Creation Church. This is because a lot of healing takes place and you hear testimonies after testimonies of people being healed and come to Jesus. It is also from this church that I learnt the true meaning of the Holy Communion – the wine which represents the blood of Jesus to take away your sins and the bread which represents Jesus’ body to remove your sickness and disease. There are testimonies of terminal and hopeless cases being healed when relative partake the holy communion in the hospital to the amazement of the doctors when the patient gets healed from cancer, wakes up from a coma, etc. When you partake the Holy Communion, you need to take it with faith and not to try and see if it works. Recently, I took the Holy Communion at a friend’s relative’s place as she was diagnosed with third stage cancer of the uterus. There is resurrection power of Jesus in taking the Holy Communion.

Happy Easter Sunday

Yesterday was Easter Sunday and my church in Georgetown Baptist Church put up a wonderplay play with a short movie of the Passion of Christ showing Jesus before his crucifixion. It is also a time to forgive previous grievances and hurts done by others. Easter is to celebrate the resurrection power of Jesus when he died at the cross and he is now alive in Heaven. One day, when all Christians die, they will reunite in heaven and stay there for eternity – which is a very very long time. While it is better to stay in heaven where there is no sorrow, pain or death, it is good to make ourselves useful here on here promoting the Kingdom of God by preaching to our loved ones so that they can be saved from eternal damnation in hell and by tithing.

Shout to the Lord on American Idol 2008

I stumbled this YouTube video recently and decided to blog about it.

Did you know that the top 8 on American Idol sang Shout To The Lord twice?

First they sang it on April 9th starting the song with My Shepherd. Then then on April 10th, they sang it again but this time they started with My Jesus. Watched by millions around the world, this is a great step forward, indirectly spreading the gospel. And a very cool move by FOX for letting them do it the 2nd night with the full version. This was awesome. Praise God!
