My paternal granny had passed away yesterday evening at 5:15pm and today the funeral was conducted in a small, private affair where only immediate family members attended. Grandma was a vivacious woman who single-handedly brought up her 4 children when she was widowed young at around late twenties to early thirties.
I had planned to bring her window shopping in Queensbay Mall but day after day, I did not make the commitment due to other priorities. This year, I also did not visit her on Mother’s day unlike the previous years and bought her roses. Had I known that she was going to pass away so soon, I would have taken the opportunity to put aside my other commitments and just spend quality time with Granny. Now it is too late. And granny was getting weaker by the day and she had to be spoon-fed and her diapers changed like a baby. The Indonesian maids at Wan Ching Yuen Old Folks Home were faithful in their duty to change Granny’s soiled adult diapers, feeding her till the day she passed away. My only regret is that I should not have been too busy with making money but put some time aside for granny’s pleasure instead of my own.
Now that I have experienced this poignant reminder with granny, I will make sure from now onwards, I will try to spend quality time with my parents especially dad who has been so faithful in taking care of granny. I have to forgive and forget whatever grievances in the past, put them aside and look forward to better quality relationships. I will endeavour to be a better filial daughter and obey my parent’s wishes.

Yesterday, I signed up for Flickr Pro account and upgraded from a free one to USD24.99 a year and I signed up for 2 years at USD49.98. I have more than 200 photos in the database and have used up all the available free slots. Since I take photos often and feature them in my many blogs, I figured that it is better than I use a paid account to continue allowing my readers see the beautiful photos that I have taken. Otherwise the limitation is that only the last 200 photos will be shown for the free account.

Today is Mother’s day and I would like to wish all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. I will be treating my family on this day at Maple Gold. It was fully booked but since my mum knows the captain, she has allocated a table of 5 for us. The dishes are sharks’ fin soup with extra crab meat, brocolli with scallops, butter nestum prawns, ‘choong piah’, stream pomfret and free fruits.
I got a cute clay picture frame from my church today though I did not stand up when the pastor announced that all mothers are to stand up to receive prayer and a gift. In fact, 2 kids came up to me to give me the gifts but I had to decline the second one as I has already received my ‘mother’s day’ souvenir. You see, I don’t want to appear too greedy taking double portions, though the temptation was there. But then again, perhaps I should have graciously accepted it from the cute little Chinese boy.
If you are in the United Kingdom, and in need of a credit card, check out Credit Card UK from MoneyEverything.com. With my own principal credit cards, I am able to buy expensive stuffs without having to carry much cash around. I can also pay for trips around Malaysia and hotel stays in Genting Highlands, Malaysia’s mountain casinos with the world’s largest hotel located right up there on the mountain tops.
Credit cards are a useful way of managing your finances and despite some bad press, credit cards can provide financial flexibility and a range of benefits if used properly. With the mass of incoherent information out there it’s hardly surprising that people end up applying for a credit card which doesn’t suit them, paying more than they need for using the card.

This is a reminder for those of you who work by the computer not to look for long hours at the screen without taking a break and using screen filter for your eyes’ protection. Recently I have been a victim of this myself. Now that I have switched to a 17-inch SyncMaster LCD, I have neglected to use the 15 inch screen filter as it will partially block my viewpoint. Now my eyes are hurting and I could feel the strain at the back of the nerves of my eyes. I guess this is a poignant reminder that no amount of opportunities or money can replace your vision. So I better than good care and start using screen filter even though it is smaller and reduce the glare of the computer.

In fact last night in Queensbay was jammed packed with people and promotions on the ground floor and first floor. But the real crowd of people are actually spectators of SuperMan 3. This movie lasted almost 3 hours and it was very heartwarming to watch with different plots and more interesting than the last episode. Watch Spiderman’s other alter ego in the black creepy symbiote that attaches itself to its host and changes the character of Spiderman. Just like Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde of split personalities, the good guy and the bad guy. Watch Mary Jane or affectionately known as MJ forced to break off with spiderman by ‘his best friend’ to save his life. This is a movie not to be missed at all!

The other blog, tsldesigns.com/wordpress got accepted by ReviewMe for USD40 yesterday after the Google PR update. That means I get USD20 or half of it for each review on the site. I am quite pleased with the progress and the opportunities it brings with the new update and upgrade of Google PR from 2 to 4 for the site mentioned above.

We need to rest our eyes especially for those who spend eons of time by the computer and expose to the glare of the computer screen. Yesterday and the day before, I spent at least 5 hours by the computer taking opportunities that come along. Today, my eyes felt tired after so much starring at the screen that I think I need a good break away from the pc. So, today, I will take it easy and take a longer afternoon nap

Mortgage brokers are often necessary to help homeowners make wise home loan decisions. Since we cannot afford to buy a house in one lump sum cash, Home loan mortgages come in handy in this situation. I have approached and been helped by mortgage broker before when I bought a small 3 room HDB flat in Singapore years ago. The flat has since been sold for a small profit.
If you stay in California, USA, you might want to check out California Mortgage Brokers or San Jose Mortgage Brokers if you are in San Jose instead. In the links, you can select your loan type, property state, property type and credit history to find the best loan and mortgage for your property. Furthermore, you can also call them up for a free rate quote.
