Good Trip to Taiping, KL and Melaka

I came back yesterday with my 2 sisters after a road trip to Taiping’s Zoo and Night Safari which is comparable to the one in Singapore. For RM16 per person, a free ride in the tram took us round the Night Safari. It was interesting to watch the animals at night. Then I drove down to Melaka where we stayed in Baba House in town and had nonya food in the afternoon. My second sister’s friend met up with us and showed us the nice nonya food. At night, my youngest sister’s friend brought us around where we had dinner at a Portuguese Settlement where all the food are home cooked. The butter cheese crab was superb! Then we had a river ride with singing and entertainment along the way. Thereafter, we went to try coconut pudding at a Chinese restaurant which is a must try. Then we walked around Jonker Street, something like a night market for tourists and locals alike. My sister bought pineapple tarts filled to the rim with pineapple.

The next day, after breakfast my sister drove down to Impiana KLCC Hotel which is a 5 star hotel within walking distance to KLCC. In the evening, we met up with ‘Adik’, my second sister’s colleague who reports to her directly and together with his best friend Jason, we went to Starhill Gallery to have a Japanese buffet in Jogoya. Imagine the long queue even with booking on a Saturday evening. Since there is a promotion of buy one free one, we invited our friends who became our tour guides for the day.

On the fourth day, we did shopping in Marks & Spencer where the clothes range from size 10 to 20. As they were having a sale, we each bought something from the retail shop. Then with the help of a map and GPS, we drove out of KLCC to Sungai Buloh and then rested in Tapah where we bought ‘jambu air’ for the family. For dinner, we stopped in Tambun for seafood before heading back to Penang and call it a day.
