As I shall be away tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur, my dad gave me RM40 ang pow plus a birthday card just now for my birthday. It is a simple pink birthday card with meaningful words and he enclosed the money between the card in a red packet. This is the first time he gave us red packets of money for our birthdays starting this year. But I have given him more for 2007 – a handphone for father’s day and a chinese meal treat in a restaurant. Also gave him RM100 ang pow for his birthday in April and also a treat for the family during mother’s day. I guess we have outgrown the birthday cakes and prefer to give sumptious chinese or seafood treats in a restaurant or seaside cafes.
