Is it time to cut back?

I have been tithing 10% of my income to my local church for the last 2 -3 years and it has come to thousands of dollars. When I stopped tithing for 2 months early this year, it was noticeable that the church administrator looked at me speaking from the pulpit and even mentioned if I am angry with the church leaders! Such bold obnoxious specimen to give this comment. If I tithe to church, it is out of goodwill and you cannot force me to continually give 10% all the time! There are many people who never tithe to church and are doing very well in their lives. As for me, I don’t see any change in my life for the better but instead lost my voice for the last 2 years. And I am contemplating to just give offering and not to tithe anymore – as I need the money for my own treatment and lifelong medication. Maybe it is time to cut back and to think of my own welfare in retirement.
