Joseph Prince at Hillsong Conference 2007

I have been amazed at the success of Pastor Joseph Prince’s preaching to the world. He is the senior pastor of New Creation Church in Singapore. From a mere 100 plus members, New Creation Church has grown to be about 15,000 members now. It has the largest Hokkien service in Singapore with more than one thousand members.

Why do people love Pastor Prince? For one, Pastor Joseph Prince has received word of healing, word of faith from the Holy Spirit. He is very much in tune and walks closely with the promptings of the Holy Spirit. I mean, this guy really listens and receives fresh manna from heaven. You could say he is a modern day prophet. And whatever he says has come to pass and people who listen to him have made money. Sometimes he drops nuggets of gold to his congregation by telling them when to buy gold for instance, at the right time and when to invest money. Not only were people made richer, some of them have been healed from sickness and terminal cases. Though not everyone has been healed, but the fact that many were healed listening and following his teachings, speaks volumns of his annointedness.

I still continue to buy his teaching CDs, music CDs, sermons and books from his web site in NewCreation.org.sg Indeed Pastor Prince is extremely annointed and blessed. Recently New Creation Church through Rock Productions has paid 100 million Singapore dollars down payment for a new iconic building for his growing congregation in Singapore. If you think he is a cult leader, definitely people around the world won’t be fooled by him. He preaches to USA, Uganda, India and a few other countries around the world via tv satellite. Now you Singaporeans are very lucky to be able to catch Pastor Prince live in New Creation Church. Though the queue is very long, but it is well worth it.

AMEN! We are indeed blessed here in Singapore. I am Geri and I attend New Creation Church.

The message of the grace of Jesus Christ through Pastor Prince has transformed the lives of my husband and I. How I wish I had started attending New Creation Church much earlier on when my best friend kept encouraging me to some years back when we were in school! =)

I was afraid it was a cult esp since Pastor Prince looked quite the dapper man (blush) but when you are grounded in scriptures and listening to Pastor’s sermons, it is clear that his heart lies with Jesus and the Word of God.

My friends, my hubby and I have grown to love reading the scriptures more and more esp the OT because he has taught us so much about biblical types and symbolisms, and how to see Christ in the Word of God. =D

May you continue to be blessed in your walk with Jesus. =)

  2. Diana says:

Geri, thanks for your message here. Yes, you Singaporeans are very blessed to be able to attend Pastor Prince’s sermons life in Suntec City. And I heard that Joseph Prince has paid a $100 million deposit for a new mega building in the shape of an Ark.

  3. Es says:

On reading your blog, I cannot help but question why people attend the service – is it in idol adoration of Pastor Prince? Is it to get a gold nugget investment hint? If people mass follow the pastor for the above motivations, isn’t that diverting from what Christ is preaching? The last thing Jesus did was to perform a miracle to gain a mass following and when he did and people who were healed and wanted to follow Him; he advised them to go back and live a life of testimony instead. Changed lives would speak of annointing from God than promoting all about what a pastor, a man, can do.

personally, i think the hokkien sermons are great. The message of Grace is very clear and annointed. The church is a blessing.

I am totally awed that the church is building the iconic Ark, it is like the modern day Noah set in the midst of swanky Singapore. What a great topic as people tour round the building and ask, “Why an ark?” The message of Salvation will be told over an over, what a brilliant idea! :)

    Hi Diana,

I’m from NCC too. Recently, NCC has been in the news for raising $19 million in one day for the new building project and there have been a lot of comments by outsiders (mostly negative and mean-spirited).

I would like to point out to you that the $100 million paid out was for the land premium and it was paid by NCC through Rock Productions, not Pastor Prince. I think it is good to be accurate here (in your article, you said “he paid”) because there are many people outside NCC who mistakenly think that Pastor Prince has personal access to NCC’s funds, and like to paint a picture of Pastor Prince as a cult leader with NCC being Pastor Prince’s “kingdom” and everybody under his control.

Maybe you could amend your article for the sake of accuracy, NCC and Pastor Prince. Thanks.

  5. Diana says:

Stanley, 19 million is a whole lot of money to be raised in 1 day. Changes are made to the above and thanks for the comment.

  6. G.C. says:

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting this excerpt.

NCC is truly blessed, and not just in numbers or finance.

I think one of the greatest reason why NCC is so successful is because Pastor Prince’s messages always focuses on what Jesus has done for us, instead of what we need to do to get saved.

Therefore, at the end of the services, people usually feel refreshed and encouraged, instead of being demoralised by messages that only condemn and demand.

Just my 2 cents worth of opinion though ;p

By the way, here’s a site that has the full length version of another one of Joseph Prince’s Sermon during another HillSong Conference. I’ve been greatly blessed by it too:

    tiny[dot]cc/hillsongconference

    Hope it helps. =)

  7. Diana says:

G.C.: I just realise that there are so many blogs and websites dedicated to our Heavenly Father and Jesus written by the members of NCC. I still listen to Joseph Prince’s sermons for the right teaching and preaching and for real inspiration. Sometimes my local church here still preach on law and condemnation from the Old Testament and it brings down the spirit after attending it.

Worse still, I had a pastor of another church condemning the dressing sense of his church member the whole session just because she wore something more colourful than the rest and was ready for a retreat to Penang Hill.

  8. G.C. says:

Well, I guess the presence of condemning voices has always been a problem, even in Jesus’ time. However, the Good News is that ever since Jesus came, there is also another Greater voice of Hope, Redemption, and Grace.

Moreover, in this day and age, it is getting much easier for people to have access to the Gospel. I believe God is also reaching out to many people through the effective medium of internet.

On a side note, just like to say that you have a rather interesting blog; I never knew turtles can make vocalisations like that ;)

Do keep writing, and have a blessed year ahead =)

  9. Diana says:

G.C.: Thanks for the comments. Good to see that you find this blog interesting. Yeah, turtles also have cravings like humans do. It must have been so lonely that it thought a sneaker was another female turtle. LOL

  10. Evelyn says:

    Hi,

Pastor Prince’s messages never fail to refresh me whenever I am at New Creation Church (NCC) with my husband. I have only attended NCC for over a year and I have received revelations from Pastor Prince and other NCC pastors a hundred-fold more than what I had experienced in my 30 years’ walk as a Christian – I had been fighting and trying hard to be a Christian, thinking that God will bless me when I have earned it. Through NCC, I learnt to rest in God’s grace, declare daily that I am the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ and expect only good things to happen to me becuase of the finished work of Jesus on the cross! Isn’t this the kind of good news we want to hear everyday? Isn’t the spiritual realm all about things radical and not about human effort? Pastor Prince’s leadership is indeed God annointed.

On the note of condemning voices within the Church, I recently heard of a very dear but long lost brother who made some “wrong turns” in his life like the way Kind Solomon, supposedly the wisest man who ever lived on earth, did. His leaders in church forbade him to partake the Holy Communion. Another brother was even disallowed to play the guitar during youth fellowship because of a divorce. Both were from the same Church.

I am sure my dear brothers have suffered in many ways already for what they had done. I pray they will not harbour anger towards those ignorant “pharisees” who are imposing punishment in Church for their sins. I think this kind of behaviour from Church leaders is preposterous. The saddest thing is with such preaching in Church, people might start to believe they are really “dirty” and do not deserve God and as a result, turned their back on Church and God’s word or worse, missed out on God’s intended blessings.

My heart cries out to these brothers. I pray the Holy Spirit leads them to NCC where they will fully comprehend the grace of God. I pray they realise that the righteousness through Jesus Christ can never be removed. Jesus’ finished work on the cross is complete and forever. No “wrong turns” can condemn and remove this righteousness. Certainly no preachers who do not understand the grace of God can stop them from receiving the unmerited and undeserved blessings from God.

I pray they believe right and live right and continue to be blessed by their Daddy God, who will always receive His child when he makes a “U-turn” home.

I learnt from attending NCC that our Daddy God is more willing to bless us than we are willing to receive. (very deep, right?) Pastor Prince’s sermons are the True Good News that our heavenly Father wants his children to receive, every day!

  11. Diana says:

Evelyn: Good to hear that you are another fellow church member of NCC. To tell you the truth, this is the most annointed church that I have ever attended and I sincerely missed Pastor Joseph Prince’s sermons when I returned to Penang. But the good news is that I continue to buy his message CDs from the web site regularly and feel very refreshed listening to them.

There are still some pastors out there preaching law and condemning church members at the slightest fault. It is very sad. They come to church without preparing any sermon material and instead do fault finding or let the congregation continue singing until the service ends. I have attended such church in Penang and have left ever since.

  12. Talking Truth says:

I’ve been attending this great church for many long years.
Personally this church & especially the Pastor, is truly fantastic compared with many others so called world class preachers that I have came across.
But, let us not get too carried away, that we are all but humans.
I am for the church and the pastor, but that does not mean all and everything the church and he does is correct.
Only GOD knows the heart and the answer.
It is sad to see tens of thousands of people in this region and around the world who see the pastor as anointed and full of wisdom has become a stumbling block in the recent news regarding his pay and the church;s explanations of how much he has donated back to the church and how he was rejected by the church’s council when asked for no pay which were so shallow.
I am happy to see people get blessed, especially our pastor and his family.
But what happened to your heart and mind if you are the pastor who already enjoys a luxurious lifestyle with posh car and living in a high end condo and still go on to say that you are to be blessed with more to buy a landed property or bungalow or another sports car, when the source of the money going to your pocket right from the beginining is from the people’s hard earned salaries contributing to GOD and the kingdom of GOD.
Yes, the pastor deserves to have a good life, but don’t you think he has gone to far with worldly pursuits? Is this not human greed?
He is capable to earn more than a million a month, but if his top priority is not GOD, he should step out of serving GOD as a church leader and go to the secular world to achieve whatever his heart desires. But not as a man of GOD where earnings are from the people.
You really think if all the church goers who contribute to church were to vote for his pay, this will happen? He has even made some people who love him cried when they know a man we highly esteemed and respect still go for excessive wanting of the luxuries where they is no end.
After all, we are all but humans. Just like the tree GOD planted in the garden, Adam & Eve will surely eat of it ….it’s just a matter of time.
All the money is inside the jar, like honey, where you are holding on to it……..it’s a matter of time, you will taste it…..perhaps, you may not be so greedy….but still you eat a portion of it…..and the rest you declare to the world…that you use them to help others.
That’s why the pastor was right…..we should look unto GOD not unto any man. And he is after all, a man, like you and I.

  13. Diana says:

talking truth: I see your point also for taking this too far (in terms of getting more money), but don’t forget that Jesus fed the multitude with 12 basketfuls of leftover. Pastor Prince has the capacity to earn millions but the fact that he received fresh manna from heaven which very few pasters do anyway, speaks volumes of his annointedness.

Money is not a problem in NCC which also sells DVDs, CDs and books online. But it is good to give back a portion of what you earn to extend God’s Kingdom. Just my 2 cents.

  14. Lorrie Mann says:

All Glory to Jesus our Savior. I am grateful for NCC, I live in the states and can tell you that most if not almost all churches here preach law and grace, especially here in the “Bible belt ” where I live in Tennessee…”a mixture”. I often wondered as I would leave a service feeling worse than when I came. Very sad…my father is a pastor so I have grown up ” in church” and believe me ,sadly I have seen and heard more politics, more self serving people with their own agendas, more favoritism, “so and so” has been here at the church for 31 years and they don’t like the pastor -so boot him out { I actually witnessed this in one church !}, etc etc …I could go on and on and on.I have served in the capacities of Sunday school teacher, youth leader, Music Minister, and many other areas in 47 years, so very grateful to Jesus for these opportunities to serve. But completely disgusted with the abuse of power that just seems to take hold of people once they get a little “power” .I have seen some of the kindest nicest folks that once they get to head up a commitee or group or whatever…oh my goodness !!! They turn into mean spirited ,greedy, jealous, envious and pushy people. Amazing.I truly think that this comes from such a deep need in EVERY HUMAN HEART for recognition and validation {that by the way, only Jesus can fill } that once they “achieve” success this weak area …sin….can take over. They think “finally I have arrived, all those times I was ignored, made to feel stupid and pushed aside have now ended , I am recognized for the intelligent, creative person I am, I am in control” . That they have the “answer” to problems , but forgetting the source of all that truth and blessing are Jesus.. not their “obedience or work !!! The devil has all the time to wait out a person…he is insidious and can be oh so slow and subltle…have you ever watched a lion stalk its prey….very, very quietly and slowly, even going “upwind” so as not to be detected, then out of nowhere, pouncing upon the prey who thought they where in a safe area to eat or rest. It happened to David in the Bible, for 15 years he ran from Saul and lived in caves, writing all those wonderful inspiring pslams about God. Then when the blessings came he began to over time slowly not lean on the Lord as much, looked around him and saw all the success and eased back, instead of being out with his troops, he got lazy, and decided he had “earned” a vacation and was sleeping till noon in his palace {not a cave anymore}…read it in the Biblle….that is when satan got him. Success is not bad, it is a blessing from God. God wants to bless us but that those blessings never blind us to Him and take us away from Him our true Joy and peace. Just as we must stay close to Jesus in hard and difficult times…let it be known…we must stay CLOSER THAN EVER to Jesus in those wonderful times of amazing blessings from God, praying more in the Spirit, not that this is a “work” but as Paul said being wise about the times. So many people fall in times of success and do not continue keeping their mind on Jesus…a false sense of security and peace gets them. No wonder the enemy has a target on Pastor Prince, anything to dicredit his ministry. The first time I heard Joseph Prince preach I was blown away with tears streaming down my face. SO finally I hear what GRACE is really about !!!!! The scriptures now make sense !!! I have the book and devotional and have many of the dvds and cds and music, I have also shared with my friends and had a group over to my home to watch and learn from the dvd on Tongues. I gave the booklet about communion to a friend who then gave to her brother in law a pastor here who preached from it on Easter!!! Go God !! But I can witness that satan absolutely does not want grace shared or taught. On “good friday” a huge tornado struck our town, it came right over my home, I have pictures of it , hundreds of homes were destroyed, it went by my sons home and where my other son was working…I actually watched this thing forming out my back porch. It went for nearlly 23 miles cutting through our county. Sadly 2 died, but miraculously many where saved. It was a half mile wide at its largest . Just 2 days prior to this as I was working in my garden, I had previously been listening to Joseph Prince teaching on tongues and had been praying in the Spirit greatly. I heard the Lord say very clearly to me in the afternoon as I worked outside in the beautiful sunlight…” Nothing by any means shall harm you.” I just laughed and felt so loved and said thankyou Abba Daddy God, and I repeated this many times throughout that day…I knew when He said “you” He also meant my family too.I felt no threats all was well and peaceful, I was preparing for a group to come to my home the next friday night to watch and learn from the teaching on tongues. Then, 2 days later on Friday as I prayed in the Spirit about the stormsthat day in the area I went to my back porch, stretching out my hands and prayed in tongues for many minutes, within 30 minutes I was looking out the same porch watching that diabolical tornado sent by our enemy and I heard again very profoundly…”Nothing by any means shall harm you.” I had forgotten what was said to me 2 days earlier and my mouth just fell open…then I knew. And I also knew that God was going to take care no matter what. It went over us, and 3 miles down the road our son was home and watched it go through his neigborhood, Indian Creek, and it then passed by where my son was working and he saw it out the back door of the office .Google in “good friday tornado murfreesboro tennessee ” see for yourself. Then, this past week several thousand dollars was stolen from our account by -now get this …asians in ohio who bought gold coins with it…we have told the police and they are investigating, meanwhile our money was returned… I tell you satan does not want Jesus finished work and His grace known. But we will continue to throw out the “seeds” , just share what Jesus has done. I do pray for Joseph Prince because he is human and satan never stops trying to bring a person down…Paul said it in Ephesians…never stop praying to stay vigilant and to pray for all the saints.I am NOT surprised that the enemy is trying to mess things up…satan does not want Jesus GRACE to be told. And God has so opened the door to this man to grant him favor to preach around the world….even on TBN where so many still preach the law just to get money !!!!! Believe that there are not only skeptics but those in the church who do not want to hear about grace because they preach fear and condemnation and can keep people controlled and sending in money, leading people to think somehow God will bless them for “sowing their seed”. All works. Politics. So “duh” !!!! Pray for Pastor Prince and New Creation Church..PRAY, PRAY, AND PRAY SOME MORE !!!!!!!!!!!!! Through all my troubles and trials one thing that has always stood out to me from the Lord, He would say “pray for them”, just pray. God knows our every weakness, he knows we want to feel wanted, to feel needed, to be afirmed, He affirmed us forever through Jesus finished work on the cross. Let us pray for him that he keeps his heart on Jesus MORE than ever. And if he is being tempted by all this new found money and success that the Holy Spirit keep him closer than ever. Just pray for him in tongues…the Holy Spirit will pray perfectly and with integrity for him. God bless Joseph Prince and his wife Wendy and their daughter Jessica AND New Creation Church. And God bless Murfreesboro Tenneessee and all the world with His Grace and Jesus finished work on the cross.

I live in Hendersonville and am looking for a GRACE Bible based church…I too have been changed by God’s use of Pastor Prince’s ministry…any suggestions on a good church?

  16. Peter says:

Just stumbled upon your site, I used to attend NCC when I was living in Singapore. But, now I have been living in Penang. Do you know of any Church in Penang that is strong in both the Word & Spirit, and espoused a balanced view towards the law and grace?

  17. Diana says:

Peter: There are a few churches that you can attend in Penang but you cannot compared them to New Creation Church which is a class of its own. I have attended Penang Christian Centre and Georgetown Baptist Church.

  18. Grace says:

I attended NCC once and continue to listen to Pastor Prince’s CD and also tune in to Andrew Wommack Ministries online. I have never felt spiritually full before in my 27 years as a Christian.

I came across your website while doing a search on Grace based church in Penang. Based on your reply to Peter, I guess there’s none or is there?

So where do you worship? I’m from Penang too and have been looking for a church for me and my family to worship in.

  19. Diana says:

    Grace,

There are a few churches you can worship in Penang like Penang Christian Centre, Wesley Methodist Church and Georgetown Baptist Church, to name a few. I wouldn’t encourage you to attend AOG (Assembly of God) because the lead pastor can be quite fiery and condemn the church members the entire session if you happen to dress the Singapore style of bright colours!

  20. Grace says:

    Hi Diana,

    Thanks for your update.

I attended AOG before when I was in my teens and yes, I can agree with you about AOG. Had the same experience when I attended FGA when it was still located along Aboo Sittee Lane. It wasn’t along the lines of dress code but rather what we can and cannot do. There was a lot of condemnation.

Have visited Wesley and Georgetown Baptist a couple of times. Might visit PCC.

    Thanks again and blessings.

    Hi Diana,

A recent, divine encounter in MPH Bookstore brought me to a very young church called Triumph in Christ, Pastored by Kenneth Kang and his wife, Pastor Sharon. Last Sunday was my 1st visit and the message was “Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfil it (to satisfy perfectly). They are currently at Copthorne Hotel, 9th Floor and service starts at 10.00am. I was told that they have about 20 or so members. But when I was there, they had to bring out more chairs and I think the numbers were more than 30. So, it’s really a very small church but I felt comfortable.

Go to “triumphinchrist.blogspot” and you will find out more about this church. His wife has a blog called The Roar of Revelation.

    I’m Blessed!

  22. Wow, great blog. Thanks for the post.

Did have the privilege to have visited NCC in Singapore and Triump In Christ in Penang.

NCC has got a different setting where by ps Prince speaks in the first 2 service and the 3rd is a playback of the recording. If you want to hear ps Prince speaking in person, gotta head for the earlier service. Since only able to attend the 3rd service, didn’t actually get to witness ps Prince in person, until ps Prince paid a visit to the Lutheran church in KL. Then, yes, finally in person. It was a good sermon, we all had fun with the local jokes. The same good message, having being made righteous by faith, by grace.

As for Triump in Christ, it has been a tremendous blessing as TIC is still grow and small enough in number to be of a homely feel. There’s time to get close to ps Kenneth and ps Sharon, the senior pastors, and the best part is both ps Kenneth and ps Sharon are spirit filled with prophecies. Not that we’re chasing phophecy, but it come as a nice blessing when ps Sharon suddenly pointed and said a few words to me, and later ps Kenneth, giving further rhema. All this is encouraging helps keep me focus, to stay on track, heading for the goal.

The best part, now being in Melbourne, Australia … ps Nigel Wright of Prophetic Healing Ministries in Victoria, after prophecying over a multitude (as it felt like a long wait), eventually ended the service and pointed at myself to usher me forward. Behold, the word (rhema) was the exact same message as ps Sharon of TIC mentioned some many weeks back. Among the many word of blessing and encouragement, a word of gentle caution was also conveyed. Not much attention was paid to it (being human to feast on the good stuff), until a friend remind me that when rhema comes, there’s is also a word of caution to ensure that the blessing is not lost, but received.

All in all, in one accord, we the children are lead by one spirit, no matter where you are or what ever your circumstance, Abba-Father knows how to say “I Love You” and Jesus thru His Holy Spirit is able to get you His Message if you are willing to receive. Word of caution, seek discernment and do get confirmation on words of prophecy. You will know, will know, for sure when it is of God.
