First quoted in the Bible and then made into an iconic song by the Beatles, “to everything there is a season”. In this part of the world, the four seasons all hold something distinctly different. Summer brings long sunny days that are usually filled with the sound of children playing outside. Autumn is a delight for the senses with the changing of the temperature, the visual display put on by the tress and the cornucopia of tastes that come with Thanksgiving. Winter brings shorter days that are usually spent huddled around a fireplace with the ones we love. But Spring is all about new beginnings and that’s exactly where I am in my life now. With a newly failed marriage behind me, it’s time to start anew. With the prospects of new jobs and new places to live, it’s nice to know that no matter where I go, I can always get Internet service with wildblue. Although leaving the life that I’ve known for the last four years behind me is hard, I’ve just got to keep moving ahead and telling myself that just as the seasons change, so too will this stage of my life.

I also have to go to Tanjung Malim on the way back from Kuala Lumpur. Anyway, working in a home office has its benefits. I get to work in my pajamas and do some writing work part time to earn extra for my retirement down the road. You don’t have to be old to talk about retirement – it can start the moment you get your first pay check and are gainfully employed.

I love using social ads to promote my blogs and sites online. Linknami is a service where advertisers can connect with social experts and social media influencers and post custom messages on their Twitter profile, Facebook personal profile or Facebook fan page for a fixed fee. I have been using a few of the social media like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. I also have an account at MySpace but no longer use it – so it stays dormant as of now. But if you like to get buzz on your side and some exposure to many visitors, then social ads are one of the methods to get lots of traffic.

As we all know, traffic is the key to getting business and income. That is why you need to spend about one third of your budget on promotion and advertisements besides the one third on website development and another one third on maintenance. There is no hard and fast rule about it but this is just a general tip on how you should allocate your budget for online ventures.

Now with Google + being developed and running since September 2011, it is a formidable competitor to Facebook. It will have 400 million users by end of this year compared to Facebooks’ 800 million users. Every day 692,000 new users will sign up on Google + and it is a free service that comes with Gmail. When you do well, competitors will come in and copy your ideas and perhaps even improve on them. They want a bigger slice of the cake to eat.
